Cornish Heritage Farms

Cornish Heritage Farms has a bi-weekly challenge.  This time the challenge was boxes or bags.  At first I had no idea what I was going to create.  So I started browsing through their digital images and an idea came to me.  I hope you like it as much as I do!

It is a two-sided bag.  One side has the image with a sentiment and the other side has the image only.  I took an image from Cornish Heritage Farms "Village Snow Scene" , one of their sentiments "Kindness is Like Snow" and combined them together to make one picture.  I then printed it out onto Jacquard Cotton for inkjet printing.  I printed out two of the images and adhered to canvas using Steam-a-Seam.  Then I used my sewing machine to applique it to the canvas.  I used the prettiest thread from Sulky.  It is varigated with red, green, white, and gold.
I then took the canvas with the appliqued scenes and made them into a bag.  I die cut holly leaves and berries from felt.  I needle felted them together and sewed them onto the bag.

I die cut "Noel" from green and red DCWV glitter paper.  I then ran them through the Xyron machine and attached one to each side of the bag.
I used Tim Holtz' die to cut out the Noel.
I used Tim Holtz' lamppost die to cut out the holly leaves and berries.
I used ribbon from Jo-Ann for the handles.
This is the sentiment I used on the bag.  I felt it went with the beautiful village scene.

I am entering this bag into the following challenges:

Cornish Heritage Farms - Boxes or Bags
Sugar Creek Hollow - For A Gift

Thank you for visiting and I hope that you have a very Merry Christmas!

Kris
